Letter: Sound advice

Accurate subtitling of live broadcasts still eludes the BBC, as you report (22 April). However some of it is closer to the mark than the original. An item on a Government economic forecast for the Western Isles reported that critics claimed that the assumptions behind the figures were "unexamined". Or as the subtitles declared: Alex Salmond.
