Letter: Sores shame

After reading a report in The Scotsman (21 September) on people dying as the result of bedsores I felt I had to write.

This is a disgrace to the nursing profession as it was always deemed that poor nursing standards were the cause of bedsores. Bedsores are so easily avoided with good simple nursing care. It is time to return to basic nursing on the wards.
