Letter: SNP defence

IF there is a knighthood going spare – albeit tarnished but only slightly used – then who could be a more suitable recipient than your very own Michael Kelly?

As a former Lord Provost of Glasgow he seems to have missed out on the baubles anyway, but this award would, of course, be “For services to London rule and keeping the Scots (and their resources) in the Union and in their place”.

For (plain Mr) Kelly to attribute “anti-English vitriol” to the SNP (Perspective, 2 February) – without evidence – is rich indeed, as his columns for your paper are usually downright abusive when it comes to Scottish Nationalism and the broader independence movement.
