Letter: SNP achievements

I noted with interest Bill Jamieson's comments that the SNP government goes into next year's election with "few landmark achievements to its credit" (23 September).

What he neglects to mention, however, is achievements such as the small business bonus, council tax freeze, the abolition of the graduate endowment fee, the Climate Change Act and more police on the streets, to name just a handful.

The forthcoming election will be a straight fight between the SNP led by Alex Salmond and a Labour Party led by Iain Gray. It will be up to the electorate to decide who ultimately has the "X-Factor".
