Letter: Shore heroes

IT’S always heartbreaking when a whale gets stranded on a beach and doesn’t have the strength to stay alive, as happened in East Lothian on Tuesday (your report, 4 April).

However, I’m proud to live in a country where people care enough to volunteer to try to rescue helpless creatures.
