Letter: School closures

Well done to Education Secretary Michael Russell for working to keep schools in Argyll and Bute open (your report, 6 January). Contrast the attacks on Mr Russell to the reaction to Glasgow Labour Council closing nine schools and the consequent drop in teacher employment; none of this of course was politically motivated.

Why is there an increasing feeling in Scotland that Labour is "untouchable"? It can't be admiration of its policies or even integrity. It certainly can't be for the Labour group leader at Holyrood. Has he apologised to Montenegro yet?

It can't be the "interests of Scotland" - which they have proved is very much secondary to their party ambitions. Is it because they have "got away" with it for decades in the west of Scotland?
