Letter: Safety fears

It is concerning that serious accidents in the North Sea oil industry have increased (your report, 24 August).

The Health & Safety Executive needs to adopt a stricter policy when it comes to concessions in using patches on high pressure gas lines forcing the operators to close down operations and complete permanent repairs.
