Letter: Rethink needed

THE latest economic statistics reveal that the current economic policy promoted and defended by the Conservative/Liberal coalition is simply not working.

While we may not technically be in another recession we are next door to it as all the retail and growth trends show poor performance with Scotland in particular trailing behind.

Chancellor George Osborne needs to swallow his pride and rethink tactics urgently to bring the economy around and avoid a double dip recession and the problems this would bring.
