Letter: Police response

While reports of the police failing to appear quickly at violent emergencies (your report, 14 February) are concerning, we should not forget that law enforcement agents are often extremely prompt in dealing with criminal elements.

Only last week my wife inadvertently parked in a poorly-signed permit holders-only space; a vehicle and full crew of men swooped within minutes, the car was towed away and the 180 fine rapidly extracted.
