Letter: Poland's history

Visiting my son in Glasgow, I came upon your obituary of Dr George Mathe (25 October).

I would like to voice a strong protest of your use of the words "Polish concentration camps" to describe Auschwitz and other Nazi extermination camps built by the Germans during the Second World War, which confuses impressionable and undereducated readers, leading them to believe that the Holocaust was executed by Poland, rather than Nazi Germany.

The official name of all "German concentration camps in Nazi-occupied Poland" should be used, as Unesco decided in 2007.
