The Tommy Sheridan perjury trial certainly belies the caricature of politics as bland.

However, I have a feeling that witnesses at the trial may have overstated the case by describing the whole affair as a "train-wreck" or as "9/11" (your report, 8 October). As far as I know, no-one has died.
