Letter: Orange Order should grow up

"THOUSANDS take part in Orange Order Marches" your headline (4 July) tells us, reporting that the day went off with just about the usual level of sectarian bombast, and you record the country grand secretary for Ayrshire, Renfrewshire and Argyll (Orange Lodges) as saying: "It's very important to hold these annual marches, because it is part of the history of Scotland."

So, once upon a time, was hurling faeces and urine out of our windows and into the street; but we grew out of that.
