Letter: Obtuse angel

Craig Brown (your report, 21 March) writes: "610 AD The religion of Islam was founded following God's revelation of The Koran to the prophet Muhammad through the Angel Gabriel in Mecca." He should write instead "Muslims believe..." as this is not an undisputed fact. For example, it is illogical to believe an angel would say one thing to the Virgin Mary and then contradict himself a few centuries later.
