Letter: Naked truth
Regarding your obituary for the Earl of Harewood (15 July), the 1963 Edinburgh Drama Conference did indeed garner much publicity.
However, a nude did not walk, as stated, across the McEwan Hall stage but was instead wheeled around the organ gallery.
This was interpreted either as rudimentary "happening", a protest against arcane, censorial laws prohibiting movement onstage while naked or, in the words of Anna Kesselaar herself, "a bit of a giggle".
