Letter: Lukewarm Peace

THIS comparatively small grouping of countries and organisations (ie Nato, the EU, the Arab League and such) that the UK media constantly refers to as “the international community” is hardly representative of the world of nations, nor indeed the United Nations.

But it is definitely the case that the same mantra repeated and repeated is counted on as acquiring some sort of entitlement to the terminology attached to the particular grouping.

Of course, being called “the international community” provides greater authority and scope than without this attached title terminology.

There is no doubt, however, that truth continues to be a casualty when it comes to machinations of nations to accomplish ambitions of power and global domination.

The Cold War is supposed to have ended around 20 years ago. Now we have the Lukewarm Peace.

It’s arguable if either is worse than the other.
