Letter: Israel permits

Regarding the call for unfettered access to the disputed territories ("Visits to Palestine", Letters, 13 July), nearly 3.5 million tourists, 70 per cent of them Christians with Scots among them, visited the Holy Land last year with no entry problems.

Last month, the UK authorities refused entry to an Israeli passport holder on the grounds that his presence was not conducive to public order.

Should Israel not have this same right to refuse entry to undesirables?
