Letter: In Keynes's name

GEORGE Kerevan writes an interesting article (10 August) on the limits of economics.

Perhaps the best approach is that of classical conservatism, with its healthy scepticism towards all "isms"; a belief that finite men cannot rationalise the infinite, ie life, and the world, where it is best to keep an open mind, using all schools of thought when the need arises, as they all contain elements of truth.

One further point of agreement with him concerns the belief that Keynes would turn in his grave if he saw what was done in his name over the past 40 or so years, perhaps Hayek as well.
