Letter: Ignore this man

I am outraged by the remarks made by Richard Keen, QC, dean of the Faculty of Advocates, that retrospective legislation would "impinge" on a person's human rights. This is as a result of the Scottish Parliament's justice committee investigating the idea of reforming the centuries-old "double jeopardy' law.

He and, according to him, all Scots lawyers, are instinctively repelled by the prospect of reforms.

This, to me, is another example of the human rights of the murderers and rapists coming before those of the families of loved ones who have been raped and murdered.

I can only hope our MSPs ignore his remarks.
