Letter: Iceland inspired

I love the new Inspired by Iceland campaign video - and was therefore very interested in the comparative GDP per capita statistics quoted by Calum Stewart (Letters, 31 August).

One of the quirkiest and most innovative shows I saw on the Fringe was also brought to Edinburgh by an Icelander - I'm a Cop, devised and performed by Smari Gunn from Reykjavik - one of several astonishing late-night Kabaret Kantor shows staged in honour of Richard Demarco and Tadeusz Kantor by Rose Bruford College in Kent.

If only Scotland's clunking National Theatre could bottle some of that Polish/Icelandic energy and imagination we too might be "inspired".
