Letter: Home care

The list of impressive names of people who expect there to be enough person-power available (and payable) to care for an ex-ballet dancer overnight in her own home (Letters, 8 July) must know that such stay-at-home luxury is a logistic impossibility for general adoption.

I have worked at a home for people with arthritis, where each resident has his or her well-equipped, home-from-home room and is able to socialise in the daytime. A competent but small overnight staff suffices because not every resident requires help simultaneously.
