Letter: Hidden hazard

Chris John (Letters, 25 October) adds a number of things to the list of distracting "don'ts" he believes drivers should obey.

Having observed some highly dangerous driving recently, I must add one other extremely dangerous item to the list.

I saw a car doing a 17-point turn. The driver was hard to see as she was wearing a garment that allowed her to peep through a narrow slit of what appeared to be about two inches in a garment made of a thick material. I believe it is what is called a burqa. As she struggled to turn the car, the garment swung from side to side, allowing her a passing glance at her surroundings before the material swung before her eyes again. I was horrified such a dangerous driver could be allowed on the roads of this country.

I hope that the powers-that-be can assure us that anyone driving in such apparel will be pulled over and prevented from driving.
