Letter: Hearts' mistake

Hearts FC must reconsider their position and sack Craig Thomson for his serious offences against a young girl, for which he has been placed on the Sex Offenders' Register for five years, therefore making his continued employment untenable (your report, 27 June).

There is no place in professional football for such individuals and if Hearts don't make the right decision then the Scottish Football Association must step in and get him banned from Scottish football.
