Letter: Gay sex row

I WAS saddened to read Rev Dr Derek Browning, a Church of Scotland minister, expressing his view that Tom Wright, Bishop of Durham and a leading Christian academic, should be barred from a (St Andrews] university post because he dares see homosexual sex as sinful (Letters, 13 August).

I have to conclude that it is actually Derek Browning who is in the wrong job. How can anyone draw a salary as a Christian leader while articulating such hostility towards Biblical Christianity?

Dr Browning seems committed to following "progressive" "contemporary mores", while the Bible is clear that Christians should always be willing to stand apart from the majority when society is departing from God's standards.
