Letter: Garbage grumble

Yet another week with no refuse collection, and in addition the recycling collections are clearly in chaos.

When we last suffered from missed collections (due to industrial action), I wrote to Edinburgh City Council requesting a council tax repayment. Surprise, surprise - they did not reply.

We are paying dearly for a service which is not being provided. This constitutes breach of contract. Through your columns, I would ask Councillor Dawe to confirm the steps the council will be taking to grant a credit to taxpayers to compensate for the council's failure.
