Letter: Fruitless search for island cyclists

I ALWAYS look forward to Richard Bath's restaurant reviews and they often make me laugh - quite often unintentionally as the review goes on. I didn't have long to wait last week though.

His comment "It's pretty rare to find someone in Scotland who hasn't at some stage of their life cycled around the island of Greater Cumbrae" had me chuckling.

We obviously move in different circles as I do not know of anyone in my locale who has cycled around Greater Cumbrae. I even asked work colleagues on Monday morning if they have done so and could not find one. Nor did they know of anyone who did.

After 58 years, I have only recently started cycling around my town of Kirkcaldy, so perhaps there is still time for me yet.
