Letter: Final straw

I watched the Scottish Cup final between Celtic and Motherwell at my home in Thailand in the company of Thais, Chinese and Australians.

I struggle to explain, let alone justify, the chants coming loud and clear from the Celtic supporters. On the day when a bomb exploded in Belfast - and in a week where the Queen was warmly welcomed in Ireland -these fans were singing in praise of a banned terrorist group.

Trying to justify why a British football club deems it acceptable that their fans should chant anti-British/state songs and pro- terrorists chants is bewildering.

Perhaps the club chairman can come out and explain.
