Letter: Fair judgment

The fact is that in the Nat Fraser case there occurred somewhere in the Scottish Crown Office the most monumental blunder, whereby the defence at the trial was not advised of vital information which might have had a material effect upon the jury's view of the issue they had to decide.

Do Alex Salmond and Kenny MacAskill seriously contend that Nat Fraser should not have had a fair trial, according to judicial standards accepted the length and breadth of Europe? Of course not.

Their endeavour to milk this case for their own political ends is utterly contemptible. Heaven help justice if we ever have an independent Scotland with these two cynical opportunists in charge.
