Letter: Eco problems

AS AN expatriate in Australia I read your newspaper online daily and have noticed one of your regular correspondents, Richard Dixon, has a penchant for addressing issues related to energy renewables, wind farms, and climate change.

I respect that he has entitlement to his views as we all do, but why is he allowed to express opinions under the guise of his directorship of the WWF, a group whose members dressed as koalas frequently clog the streets of Sydney begging for money?

DR RICHARD Dixon (Letters, 10 February) suggests that the EU should "create legislation to encourage the use of low-carbon fuel".

A serious problem with this suggestion is that there is no democratic foundation for the EU to legislate for Scotland.
