Letter: Classical errors in language story

IT IS nearly 40 years since I learned my "small Latin and less Greek".

But I still remember that "hodie" means "today" and NOT "tomorrow," as claimed in your article "Modern drive for ancient language" (25 July).

I think you'll find that "heri" means "yesterday", but I had to look that one up. At least you got "semper" right. You must try harder. Bring back the tawse!
