Letter: Candy for all eyes

I am a (female) reader of the business section and Friday's issue (21 January) has finally compelled me to highlight the blatant inequality of the choice of photographs accompanying your business articles.

Whenever there is a report on a high street fashion retailer (and even when there is not), a photo of a comely lass appears, usually lightly clothed, quite often on the front page. On Friday she was on the inside page, as modesty might dictate since she was in her underwear.

I am fairly certain I'm not alone in being a female interested in what's going on in the business world, but, in this age of equality, surely a more 21st-century approach should be applied.

If you really feel your readers' lives need a little light entertainment when reading the business section, please remember that half your demographic is female, and let's have some photos of men who are easy on the eye, lightly clothed or otherwise.
