Letter: Black balled

So, Ronnie O'Sullivan is either or too proud or too rich to accept £4,000 for not wanting to make what most snooker players covet but rarely achieve, a maximum break of 147 (Sport, 21 September). With an easy black to complete this feat, O'Sullivan refused to pocket it because the prize for the highest break at the World Open in Glasgow is "only" £4,000.

It was only when the referee played what O'Sullivan pettily called a "guilt trip" that he smashed the black ball into the pocket. It is reported that O'Sullivan wants soon to give up tournament snooker. I for one will not miss his childish tantrums.
