Letter: Bad picture

AS ONE who knows the value of having one’s photograph published on the front page of The Scotsman (see edition Monday, 25 June, 1979), I found it quite disturbing that you chose to put a photograph of dubious historian David Starkey, on your front page (20 April).

By all means report his obnoxious remarks, but on the front page? I don’t think so.

LANGUAGE students: Is it possible for “David Starkey” to be an anagram of “Supercilious Old Windbag”? Discuss over a nice glass of xenophobic vitriol.
