Letter: Attention-seeker

I FIND it unbelievably irritating when people like Alan Titchmarsh say things like “gardening is more important than politics” (your report, 3 January).

Yes, he has a point about how a piece of ground should be cherished because of the reliable and stable cycle of the natural world, but really, these are not two things between which anyone has to choose.

It’s obvious that Mr Titchmarsh is just saying this to get attention.
