Learning curve

Fraser Grant (Letters, 7 September) suggests various statistics to try to counter the troubling series of revelations of poor performance and low morale in Scottish education.

Yet with his last sentence he rather gives away the SNP’s true position as he says that new tax powers will not be enough to deal with the issues in education and elsewhere. It seems the SNP and their supporters will not accept responsibility for anything until they get their way on breaking up the UK.
