Law move on ice

Does anybody truly believe that justice secretary Kenny MacAskill’s U-turn on corroboration (your report, 24 April) is anything other than a postponement till after the referendum of a tricky, vote-losing issue?

The phrase, “to kick something into the long grass”, has become clichéd with over-use but that’s because it is so often the most accurate description of events.
