Land tax switch

It was last October that John Swinney announced with pride the first tax raised by a Scottish Parliament for 300 years, namely the LBTT or Swinney Tax.

Oh, dear, within three months he has had to change it. Slightly for the better perhaps, but what an embarrassment.

The new tax will undoubtedly affect aspiring families having to move to a bigger house, especially in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen.

It will, of course, be put down to the fault of these Tories at Westminster. But, just a minute, is the economy not improving somewhat? Perhaps we should just put this down to luck.
