Lambing threat

On behalf of the “aggressive wee man on a quad bike” encountered by Alison Pearson (Letters, 9 April) I am surprised that after years of walking in
the Peebles hills, she could have any confusion over the “threat” she posed.

I witnessed this encounter and the problem had nothing to do with “keepering”.

The only problem was the fact they had a dog walking amongst Blackface ewes and lambs. This is a real threat.

Being a hill farmer is a challenging existence and we need the general public to recognise that during lambing time, any dog near ewes and lambs can lead to mis-mothering and lost lambs.

This is true for sheep farmers across the country and we need your support, not your resistance.
