Labour’s hot air

No-one can redefine reality quite like a politician. At Labour’s conference, Ed Miliband declared that he would “not rest until we are back where we should be, leading the Scottish Government”.

By what inverted reasoning should anyone be where he’s clearly not wanted by the people who are empowered to decide such matters?

Governments are installed by invitation of the electorate, and if the last two Scottish election results indicate anything at all it is surely that Labour is becoming steadily less welcome here.

It’s obvious that Labour, even at London level, still sees itself as the self-styled “natural” party of Scotland; this is an insult to its own members as much as to others.

Ah, the Labour Party conference. Which means interviews with Neil Kinnock. Lord Kinnock should be Labour’s renewable energy solution.

Not as Shadow Energy Minister, but connected directly to the national grid he is such a pompous windbag.
