Labour values
During the independence referendum campaign, the Labour Party steadfastly argued that solidarity did not stop at the Tweed. Any attempt to seek to create a fairer society for those who are worse off that focused on Scotland alone was, so they said, divisive and reactionary.
Yet the very same party now advocates stripping some of the poorest workers of their tax credits, simply because they are not British.
Sadly, however, it appears that the party is too busy fighting its own civil war at the moment to find the time to comment.
So in the meantime, it’s left to us voters to try and work out whether they still stand for anything.
