Kicking out

The news that the Collins Online Dictionary is including more Scots words is welcome, but it really should try harder to get the correct meanings.

The word “blootered” has much wider usage than simply meaning “drunk”. In many ways, it is similar to the English word “smashed”. Generally, it means to hit or kick strongly, as in “he blootered the ball out of the park”.
