Kathmandu confusion

Brian Wilson’s praise for the value to Scotland of UK representatives abroad (Perspective, 5 April) reminds me of when I arrived in Kathmandu with a copy of The Scotsman that had been given to me on an aircraft during the journey.

I offered it to the local British Council office for its library/reading room and was told that it might be suitable for the “foreign” section.
