Douglas Mayer (Letters, 5 July)describes the £500 million to be invested in Glasgow’s economy by the UK government as an “impertinent” bribe. By impertinent, I presume he means that the offering of bribes to voters is a devolved matter in Scotland and is the particular responsibility of the Deputy First Minister.
