It’s good to talk

Having attended hustings for the Scottish Conservative leadership campaign I have been surprised to hear some candidates criticise MSPs for not meeting with councillors.

In the past two parliaments several meetings have taken place so I am writing to set the record straight.

MSPs who have met with councillors are few and the MSPs who have attended these meetings are Annabel Goldie, Murdo Fraser, Liz Smith and John Lamont.

Great benefit was derived from these meetings as information was shared between both parties on policy and constituents’ problems.
