Island irony

What supreme irony: Foreign Secretary Miliband announces the creation of a marine reserve around the Chagos Islands (your report, 2 April) to protect wildlife, whilst continuing to resist the legitimate rights of the islanders to return to their homeland. Sounds as if they need another Joanna Lumley to shame our government into doing the right thing.
