Ill treatment

I can’t begin to describe how disgusted and upset I am by the behaviour of Oban’s Lorn and Islands District General Hospital (your report, 17 June).

Where is the humanity in discharging a woman – Stacey Inglis, who had just given birth – on the grounds that there aren’t enough beds?

The fact that she was made to check in to a bed and breakfast because there were no ferries home to Mull until the following day adds insult to injury.

Do these people have any idea what it is like to give birth? Something has gone seriously wrong if this is how we treat people.
