How many Scots?

The figure of 830,000 Scots living in the rest of the UK, quoted by Tim Jackson (Letters, 30 April), is a gross exaggeration.

However, as most of the money raised for Yes Scotland has been raised in Scotland I wonder whether this might mean that a significant amount of that money has come from the 10 per cent of the population living and working here who are English folk who have recognised the benefits of independence.
