Climate-change zealots are delirious with joy. Wind turbine developers are ecstatic.

Politicians with fingers in the renewables gravy train are celebrating.

Climate change scientists are drinking to another round of lucrative research grants.

The renewables propaganda machines are gearing up for further press releases and articles in the media.

I hate to put a dampener on their joy but someone in the Met Office warned that the weather record of one individual year cannot be attributed to man-made global warming and that this does not necessarily say anything about long-term climate change, which needs to be looked at over a longer timescale of several decades.

I wonder if that individual is still in a job?
