Hot air?

Whilst welcoming the good luck of the people of Watten in Caithness as mentioned by Lesley Riddoch (Opinion, 24May), we can be fairly sure their cash bonanza won't be coming from the sales of electricity from local wind turbines and is more likely to come from a derivative of Renewable Obligation money accruing to the developers and or landowners.

Ms Riddoch is correct to ask if local communities might take a different attitude to wind farms if they owned the sites that accessed the Renewable Obligation treasure chest.
