Many vulnerable families are experiencing fuel poverty and are having to make the daily choice between eating or heating. In a country that is commendably quick to donate to nations in need, it might be a good time for our leaders to concentrate more on the home front.
The responsibility for the industries that are necessary for the everyday life of the people – and I include the railway network in this – if privatised, should not be left in the hands of barefaced profiteers.
