Holocaust's vital lessons

Jim Murphy MP is right to call for the Scottish Government to provide long term funding for the school trips to Auschwitz (your report, 16 February). One of the saddest things for me about this year's Holocaust Day was talking to a teenage man who had not been taught the history of the extermination camps in Nazi Germany.

Maybe by seeing suffering and cruelty through children's eyes a new world can be built in which human rights for all are respected and the pain of discrimination replaced by compassion for all.
